1927 -

On the 18th of May in 1927, the Ritz Hotel in Boston opened its doors to the excited and wondering public. The Ritz already had multiple other hotels, but that didn't make this celebration any less valuable. The grand opening was highly celebrated, because the Ritz would only keep growing and opening more rooms for its guests.

Ritz-Carlton
The founder of the Ritz was Cesar Ritz, who was known as 'the king of hoteliers and hotelier to kings'. He had already opened up the Ritz in Paris and the Carlton in London, giving the word 'hotel' a whole new meaning. Sadly, the man passed away in 1918, but luckily for the company, his wife took over and continued to expand their hotel empire.

Luxury
Everything in the Ritz hotels has an almost unparalleled grandeur; the guests pay a high price to stay in a room, but the staff does everything in their power to make it worthwhile. The rooms are flawless, riches are all over the place and the diners are incredible. The Ritz suffered a few setbacks during for example the Great Depression, but stayed open no matter what. The company's fitting motto is: 'We are Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen'.

360 trivial fact
The Ritz frequently has celebrities staying in their suites. Sir Winston Churchill's favourite colour was red, so when he was to reside at the Ritz, they redecorated and refurnished an entire room to be more appealing to him.
