1960 -

Hugh Grant was born on the 9th of September, in the year 1960. That day happens to be today! The actor is well known for his many appearances in romantic comedy movies. He broke through with his movie ‘Four weddings and a funeral’.

Before the movies
Hugh Grant did not always want to become an actor. His father fought in WWII, and many other ancestors were in the military too. However, the military life wasn’t what Grant wanted. He won a scholarship to Oxford and graduated with a degree in English. He even got a second scholarship to an Art History postgraduate. He turned this down to focus on acting.

Three girlfriends one prostitute
Even though his many appearances in Romcoms, Hugh’s own love life wasn’t always as pretty as in Hollywood. On the 27th of June Grant was arrested for having sex in public. However, this was not with his own wife. The lady’s street name was Divine Brown and she gained a lot of publicity after the ordeal. Hugh quickly released a statement saying: “Last night I did something completely insane. I have hurt people I love and embarrassed people I work with. For both things I am more sorry than I can ever possibly say.”

360 trivial fact
You could say Divine Brown didn’t really mind getting caught in the end. Apart from the 60 dollars she made, she has also been estimated to have earned 1,6 million dollars for media interviews
